This coffee comes from the Iyenga Cooperative, an award-winning coffee cooperative in Tanzania.

The cooperative currently consists of 172 smallholder farmers and produces around 45 tonnes of green coffee annually. Iyenga was awarded 1st place in the 2018/19 Tanzania Coffee Board Taste of Harvest competition. With a strong focus on quality, the cooperative continuously invests in improving its three coffee processing stations.

After harvesting, the coffee undergoes 18–36 hours of fermentation before being washed. It is then soaked for 8–12 hours and dried on raised beds for 8–14 days, with the coffee being turned regularly to ensure even drying. The remaining coffee pulp is returned to the farmers and used as natural fertilizer, supporting sustainable farming practices.
